Text Box: Give a Gift of Warmth by Donating a Pair of Gloves for the Needy. The Warming Hands Project is a grass-roots movement to provide the needy with gloves and other warm clothing during the winter months. A goal of 100 pair was set from Oct 30th, 2009 to December 23rd, 2009. We raised 158 pair and the businesses involved continued to collect through the next few months. Our hope is to spread this movement throughout the country and add the benefits to other charitable donations. With help from a stranger, the world becomes smaller, one act at a time. Donations in the Western Slope of Colorado area can be dropped off at various business locations. Please contact me for more information. Kathie@desertwatcherdesigns.com To start a Warming Hands Project in your area, ask your local businesses if you can place a collection box in their establishment and start spreading the word to the community. No money is collected All donations are gloves, socks, hats, etc. in good condition. These must be distributed to a local shelter or family resource center in your area within a month of collection. Boxes may be kept at local businesses with their permission as long as the weather is considered distressful to the homeless. Please use integrity when setting up a project in your area, your help will be paid forward by others.
